Cocoa bean shells (also known as hulls or husks) are one of the main by-products from the transformation of cocoa beans. Cocoa bean shells are a source of nutrients and other compounds, such as fiber, cocoa volatile compounds, proteins, minerals, vitamins, and a large spectrum of polyphenols (which have a strong antioxidant properties and suppress oxidation). Therefore, we at AFOODS transforms the cocoa bean shells into new natural functional drinks that are set to open up a new category in the beverage industry.
